Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated between August and September. It is celebrated for the future of a prosperous life. We prepare Modak, Kadubu and sweets for Ganesha pooja and offer pooja for Lord Ganesha with flowers and garland. After pooja we have to listen to the story of Shamantaka Upakhyana.
Traditionally, the Ganesha idol was sculpted out of Earth from nearby one’s home. After worshipping the divinity in this Earth icon, it was returned back to Earth by immersing it in a nearby water body . This cycle represented the cycle of creation and dissolution in nature.
