My Favourite Festival GANESH CHATURTHI

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated between August and September. It is celebrated for the future of a prosperous life. We prepare Modak, Kadubu and sweets for Ganesha pooja and offer pooja for Lord Ganesha with flowers and garland. After pooja we have to listen to the story of Shamantaka Upakhyana.

Traditionally, the Ganesha idol was sculpted out of Earth from nearby one’s home. After worshipping the divinity in this Earth icon, it was returned back to Earth by immersing it in a nearby water body     . This cycle represented the cycle of creation and dissolution in nature.

summer healthy baking workshop

I attended summer baking workshop. It was for four hours. They taught me how to bake cup cake brownie, cheesy spinach muffins and cream cheese pound cake.  I learnt how to break eggs, melt chocolate in a double boiler, measure ingredients and decorate. It was fun and the cakes tasted excellent! My parents and my brother also enjoyed the cakes.

The Wishing Chair – Exploration to Mars

By Sidhanth Kashyap – Grade 2 X

Wishing Chair and Mars

One day, Jack and Jessica went to the shed to tell Wishler that they decided to go to Mars. Wishler was excited and he screamed with joy. They got their spacesuits, put it on and sat on the wishing chair.

“One!”, called Jessica. “Two!”, called Wishler. “Take us to Mars”, said Jack, “three!”.

They landed on Mars. They saw some rovers and some deep valleys. They saw a Martian so they hid behind a rock. “Let’s go say hi”, said Jessica. Wishler was frightened. “Don’t be afraid”, said Jack, “we’ll protect you”. They said hi to the Martian. He was a kid and he was friendly.

He took them to his parents. They showed them the schools and houses.

The houses had red slime all over. The Martians treated them with some food. The food tasted bitter. They ate a little bit.

They thanked the Martian kid. “Now it’s time to go home”, said Jessica. They sat on the wishing chair and went home. Jack and Jessica were delighted to visit another planet.

Ice Popsicle

This was the first thing we made as part of our “Friday Cafe”.  Abhinav, Dad and I have been spending time together every Friday and cooking something interesting as part of our “Friday Cafe”.

We put apple juice in the ice tray then put it in the freezer for a night. Next day we ate them.
